You are provided with two similar bars, one is a magnet and the other is a soft iron bar. How will you distinguish between them iwthout the use of any other magnet or bar?

If you suspend each with the help of a string, the magnet will always align to Earth's Magnetic North-South pole and the bar of iron will not.
