❤❤HERE IS YOUR ANSWER ❤❤

I just returned from a solo trip to Kashmir. I spoke to a few people over instagram before I made up my mind to visit Kashmir. I visited Srinagar, Pahalgam, Aru Valley, Sonamarg, Kargil and did a day long trek to Kolahai glaciar. I spent 3 nights living in a houseboat on Dal lake. I wanted to do more treks but it wasn’t the ideal time since there was still a lot of snow in the mountains.

I spoke to a lot of people including hotel managers, auto drivers, non-muslims I met in Punjabi dhabas, co-passengers on shared taxis and buses and well educated youth from Srinagar. There is a very strong anti-India sentiment among the people there and at a lot of places I saw things like ‘Indians go back’ written on walls etc.

Inspite of all that I found that they were extremely welcoming and very hospitable to tourists. Tourism is one of the biggest source of money in Kashmir. As a tourist you are very safe in Kashmir and you can enjoy it’s beauty without any worries. I met a group of 25 Kashmiri youth on a trek and on learning that I was a solo-traveller they even invited me for lunch and for the first time I had local home made Kashmiri wazwan. Another guy even invited me to stay at his place though I did not eventually.

I saw tourists from all over the country and some even drove all the way from Mumbai and Kerala! I didn’t have a single bad experience and I wish I could have stayed another few days in the house boat in Dal lake. I think after looking at these pictures you would want to too.
