Sir
Subject: Inconvenience caused due to strike of sanitation workers.
I am a resident of Neptune Apartments, Rohini. Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards the inconvenience which the residents of our area are facing as a result of the strike declared by the sanitation workers.
The strike announced by the sanitation staff has left the city high and dry, with civic woes aggravating. The area around our locality has become a dumping ground with the streets overflowing with uncollected garbage piled up for almost a week. The streets stink with filth due to the garbage left deliberately by the workers on strike in order to highlight their demands. Not only is it an eyesore but is also a health hazard for the residents of the locality as well as the adjoining areas. Adverse weather conditions caused by persistent rains have increased the chances of an epidemic. There is also a risk of increase in cases like malaria, dengue, typhoid and cholera. Another worry is about the accidents that may occur due to the garbage getting piled up endlessly on the streets.
I hope that my letter will find space in your esteemed columns and the concerned authorities will pay heed to the situation and take the necessary action to solve the problem.
Thank you
Yours sincerely
