You are Shalini/Shashank living at 39, Kailash Colony, New Delhi. You have noticed that children are working in tea stalls, begging at intersections, etc., in spite of laws prohibiting child labour. Write a letter in about 120 words to the Editor, The Hindu showing your concern about it and requesting strict implementation of law by the police.

Subject-Strict implementation of Laws against Child Labour

Sir,

As a concerned citizen of the country. I would like to draw your attention towards the increasing cases of child labour despite the laws thathave put a ban on child labour.

Every day we come across children wording at lea stalls, purchase shops, selling or begging at different intersections. These children arethe future of our country. If given education, some of them might become productive citizens.

Such children generally belong to poor families who do not even have enough money to eat Although there are many schemes and

compaigns being run by both Central and State governments, the issue of child labour remains unresolved.

This is only because of the lack of proper implementation of laws against child labour. Hence, it is high time that the government and

concerned authorities should toke strict actions against those who wolates these laws, even if it is the parents of the child.

I sincerely hope that you will take my request seriously and look towards improving the implementation of child labour laws.

Yours faithfully

Shalini/Shashank
