Subject: The rise in road accidents in our county.
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I would like to draw the attention of the Municipal Commissioners of different localities, the traffic department and create awareness among the people on the increasing amount of road accidents in our country.
Not a single day passes when we don't hear about traffic jams and road accidents. It has become a frequent phenomena in our country. The traffic police only seems to be doing it's duty at the national highways and not at the local junctions where most accidents happen. Poorly constructed roads with lots of bumps and stones also cause accidents. Sometimes it's due to pure negligence to traffic rules shown by the people themselves, and other times it's stray animals who come in our way and cause accidents. Just three days ago I witnessed a biker chased by dogs. He tried to drive away, in the process jumping a red light and meeting with an accident. It's hard to put a blame on someone in this case.
Despite many complaints to the concerned authorities, required action is not seen at the right places. Countries are developing rapidly and here we are still stuck with this sort of problems. I hope to create awareness by bringing light to this situation through your national daily so that people see the problem and the authorities take action.
