Subject: Child labor abolition.

Dear Sir,

One of the major problems these days is the growing rate of child labor in the country. A few days back I read a report in a magazine mentioning that there are 12 million child workers in the country and was shocked on knowing the numbers. The reason for child labor is the high poverty rate in India and ignorance of people for the importance of education. Poor families insist their children to work to increase their family income.

To abolish child labor, strict rules must be made and regular checking should be done in area to keep a check on this issue. Also children should be encouraged to go to schools and not work at a small age.

Therefore I would request you to look into the matter and forward my views to higher authorities.

Thanking You

Yours sincerely

Shivani

Subject: Problem of Child Labour

Sir

Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I wish to raise my voice against the worst social sin –child labour. Childhood is the best period of one’s life. But it is unfortunate on the part of children that, despite the ban on child labour, imposed by the government, the practice is still prevalent in our society. Data shows that there are 12 million child workers in our country.

The root cause of the problem is lack of awareness and poverty. Poor parents send their children to earn, rather than sending them to school. They seek financial support from them. But this practice has adverse impact on their well being–physically, mentally and emotionally.

I hope, through media, the general public should be made aware of the children’s plight. Poor parents should otherwise be compensated. Rules against child labour should be followed strictly.

Thanking you

Yours sincerely

shivam/ Shivi
