Dear Sir

Sub. Beggars menace at Mathura and Vrindavan

On a recent visit to Mathura and Vrindavan, I happened to come across several adults and small children on the streets, begging – especially near traffic lights and temples. They were all able-bodied and looked capable of doing work. But instead, they go about trying to make easy money. They are encouraged by people who readily give alms.

Other than tarnishing our country’s image, the children miss out on their childhood and schooling. It is my sincere suggestion that such people should be put in government shelters, counselled and urged to take up education or appropriate jobs.

I am sure the government and NGOs can take up this matter on priority.

Thank you.

Regards

Siman
