Memories of school Educational trips are among the most prominent of the formative
years, largely because they are a welcome break in the routine for both students and
teachers. While their purpose is essentially to educate, they can also be a fun bonding
experience for everyone involved.
One such experience had been organized by G.D. Goenka Public School, Sarita Vihar in the
form of an educational tour to Agra, Fatehpur Sikri and Bharatpur for three days for 146
students from classes III to IX.
The first destination of the trip was Bharatpur. On reaching Bharatpur, the students headed
for the famous Bharatpur bird sanctuary which is now known as Keoladeo Ghana Bird
Sanctuary. In the evening the children appreciated the special Rajasthani puppet show that
was organized for them.
The next day, the students left for Agra. The first stop was at Fatehpur Sikri after which
they headed towards Agra Fort. Their experience of the fort as well as Fatehpur Sikri was
very rich and educating. Students enjoyed going around the historical monuments and
learnt a lot about the Mughal Dynasty and Tansen.
On the last day of the trip, the students visited the Taj Mahal. They spent the day enjoying
the rich cultural heritage that the glorious monument exudes. After that, they left for Delhi
