You are targeting a total Production Volume increase of 10% in the next 7 days compared to the last 7 days' Actual Production Volume. Assuming you maintain the same Productivity Rate as last week for the next 7 days, approximately how many Scheduled Hours will you need to schedule to achieve this goal

Let x = current producton rate in vol/hour.

Then the current production volume in 7 days is

V = (24*7)x = 168x

The targeted production increase is 10%, so the new weekly volume is

1.1*(168x) = 184.8x

Let y =  the extra hours required to meet the new targeted volume. Therefore

(168 + y)x = 184.8x

Divide by x.

168 + y = 184.8

y = 184.8 - 168 = 16.8 hours

Answer:

For the week:

The scheduled hours is 184.8

The extra hours is 16.8
