Subject: Rampant Chain-snatching Incidents
Dear Sir:
I am writing this letter to express my deep concern over the nuisance of increasing crime rate in our locality, East Kailash, and the police’s lackadaisical approach to the gravity of the situation. The incidents jewellery and purse snatching, mobile snatching, eve-teasing are on the increase. My sister became victim of chain-snatching on January 23, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. near the Bus Stand. Two scooterists did it in front of all the people waiting for the bus.
There is an atmosphere of insecurity and fear in the entire locality. No resident dares to go even during the broad daylight, not to mention going out after the dark. The most worrying factor is most of these crimes are being done by the teenagers. These crimes are the fallout of their unregulated and unmonitored overexposure to the internet.
It really pains to see young teenagers being caught by police. Quite ironically, they belong to families with respectable background. Being elders it is our moral responsibility to prevent the youngsters from going astray. The schools, the parents, and the government must come together to solve this problem. I hope the concerned authorities will look into the matter and take immediate measures to nip this evil in the bud. I am hopeful that you will help me in sensitizing the concerned authorities, people and organizations by publishing this letter in your reputed daily.
Thanking you.
Yours truly,
Tanisha

Subject: increased crimes of chain snatching.
Dear Sir,
I am writing to your esteemed newspaper to bring attention to the increasing cases of chain snatching in and around our locality. Recently, a young woman was thrown off-guard while walking on the pavement, when these chain snatchers pulled her a bit too much in an attempt to get her gold chain. Luckily, there were passersby who came to her rescue.
Cases such as this are on the rise and the perpetrators seemed unfazed by the harm they cause their victims. Some have even been admitted to the hospitals for their tragic fall on the roadsides.
It is my hope that this issue comes to light and the Police authorities take note of the issue and act in catching the culprits.
Thank you.
Regards,
Tarun
