Answer:

considerable experience as they continue their learning of the sport.

"They all started this project having never picked up a rifle before," explained Bindra.

"While they may come from different places, different stories, shooting has bound them, and us together. I am glad to welcome them to this family, as we all strive towards our dreams." India's ace marksman added.

Taking refuge project

The project was the brainchild of three-time Olympic gold medallist in shooting Niccolo Campriani, who is taking three refugees on a journey to try and qualify for the Olympics.

Their story will be documented in an Olympic Channel series Taking Refuge: Target Tokyo 2020 which is scheduled for release next year.

Two of those selected to pursue their Tokyo 2020 ambition have joined Campriani and Bindra in Bengaluru to train with some of India's best shooters, including world number one 10m Air Rifle shooter Apurvi Chandela.

Indian shooting is enjoying a renaissance of late, with a record entry of at least 15 shooters guaranteed a spot at next year's Games.

Indian learning

Supported by the Abhinav Bindra Foundation, the refugee athletes will spend a week at the Academy training as well as learning relaxation and meditation techniques.

There will also be time for other activities such as visiting a nearby equestrian centre, as well as sight-seeing tour of Bangalore city.

Bindra believes the experience will not only benefit them in a sporting capacity, but in a wider sense.

"As an athlete, all of us are committed to the training and the results that drive us; give us purpose. What many of us may not see is the ability that sport has to unite us, to inspire others, to transcend the concept itself. " he said.

For Bindra, the path that these refugees have taken - from shooting novices to the cusp of Olympic qualification - can help motivate others to fulfill their dreams, just as he did at Beijing 2008:

"Taking Refuge as a project draws from this very notion, and we look forward to it not just changing their perspective on life, but inspire more to take the leap, and pursue their excellence."

Explanation:

  • Invitation letters are those letters that are written to invite individuals to a specific event.
  • The main purpose of writing invitation letters is to coordinate the number of guests coming a few days before the date of the event.
  • An invitation letter helps the host handle the event better as they can make arrangements accordingly.
  • Formal invitation letters are written for formal events like graduation ceremonies, business events, or parties.
  • On the flip side, informal invitation letters are written to friends or family, for events like dinner, parties, or get-togethers!
  • Step 1. Write the subject line-Your subject line should contain the essence of your letter.
  • Step 2. Add your letterhead-This step is a must when you are writing a formal invitation. You just need to add your organization’s letterhead at the very top of the letter.
  • Step 3. Mention the Sender’s Address-The first thing that you need to mention right after adding your letterhead (only in cases of formal invitation letters) is the sender’s address.
  • Step 4. Write the Date-After mentioning the sender’s address, you need to mention the date of sending out the invitations.
  • Step 5. Mention the Recipient’s Address-The next step is to mention the recipient’s address, along with writing their names.
  • Step 6. Include the Salutation-Always begin your letter with a greeting. You may write – Dear Madam/Sir if you do not know the recipient’s name.
  • Step 7. Write the Main Body of the Letter-You should always start your invitation letter with phrases like…
  • We’re pleased to welcome you…Our organization will be venerated to welcome you as a guest…It would be a pleasure for us if you could come…We would be glad if you could come to…On behalf of our organization, we would like to welcome you…

Writing phrases like these at the beginning of the letter demonstrates your respect and happiness towards inviting an individual to the event.

  • Step 8. Include the closing and signature-Express your gratitude towards the recipient for considering your invitation.
  • Step 9. Proofread your Letter-Have a final look at your letter before you send it out.
