Day National Science Day was observed by the students of Violet Matriculation Higher Secondary School on 28th February, 2019 to mark the discovery of the Raman effect in 1928 by Indian physicist Sir C. V. Raman. The Director of the District Science Museum, Mr.Shanthakumar presided over the function. This event, organized on account of National Science Day for the members of the forum was led by Mrs.Leema, Physics teacher of our school. The celebration included public speeches, watching the night sky, live projects, debates and many more activities. Every year, NSD is celebrated to widely spread a message about the Importance of science used in the daily life of the people. It is also celebrated to discuss all the issues and implement new technologies for the development in the field of science. National Science day was celebrated by the students of St. Francis High School Vasai(w) on 28th February 2019 . This day is celebrated to remember the great invention by the Indian Physicist Chandrashekhara Venkata Raman who discovered ‘Ramans Effect’.
Students of St. Francis High School, held a special assembly to mark this occasion. The day began with Introduction of our Scientist Dr. C.V. Raman followed by speeches. Students from Std V to IX participated in Quiz, debate and profile making competition and innovative projects. Children disguised themselves as famous scientist from various fields. Certificates were distributed to the winners of various competitions.
It was indeed a very knowledgeable day in which the main motive was to spread a message about the importance of Science used in the daily life of the people.
