bcz an is used before vowel

because use of articles is based on pronounciation not alphabets..

university has a u in starting but we use a before university... when we pronounce university we say यूनिवर्सिटी(youniversity) not ऊनिवर्सिटी.. it has y sound in starting just like a universe, a unambiguous..

in case of M.A we say ( एम. ए) Em.A when we pronounce sound E comes before m thats why we use an before M.A. other examples are

an M. B. A (pronounciation Em. B .A)
