Subject: Urgent need of a health centre

Dear Sir

I wish to draw attention to the lack of medical facilities in the Ashok Nagar part of the city of Kanpur. Being the secretary of the  Ashok Nagar Welfare Society, I have taken up the issue with the local authorities many times. Unfortunately, nothing concrete has been done about it.  

Given the population density of Ashok Nagar and the number of domestic helpers working in the area, it is but logical to provide the people with the basic health care facilities in the vicinity. As of now, they need to go all the way to the government dispensary in Central Park for the smallest of ailments. Though the rich can afford to consult the private doctors in the neighbourhood, the economically weaker section cannot.  

I urge the concerned authorities to please initiate the process of building a health care centre in Ashok Nagar, considering the statistics of the area, in terms of population and income.
