You can either use the following discussion for your ASL prompt task or develop your own discussion taking ideas from it:

Student A (acting like the Sports Captain): Hey why do you want to design the sports team?

Student B: (acting like the vice-captain): There are many reasons. Firstly, the players don’t like the colour of the uniform; second reason is they want to design a logo and some cool, appealing design. They want to make it look trendy!

Student A: I would rather have them pay more attention to the game than designing? That’s the domain of the team manager and sports teacher.

Student B: Well, I was also wondering if we could design a better uniform it would be so nice!

Student A: Just give me one good reason why you want to design it. I will go to the Principal myself and request for the change.

Student B: Well, we would look smarter, and more trendy and stylish!

Student A: Goodness gracious! Do you go to the ground for a fashion show or play? Will redesigning affect your performance anyhow? Will it make you win the games, eh?

Student B: I don’t think it will enhance our performance in any manner. I was just considering the looks part!

Student A: I think the thought of changing the sports uniform is wastage of time and energy. Sports uniforms are usually sober. Their chief purpose is to allow free body movements and protect our skin and sensitive parts.

Student B: I see!

Student A: Besides as responsible players, we should be thinking about improving our game further; not just wasting our time on trivialities. We have to win the championship next year. So we must be focusing on practice, strategy, and physical and mental training. It is the winning that matters, not the uniform. I hope you agree with me.

Student B: Yes I do. Thanks for making me see what is important.

Student A: Welcome. Now go and tell the other team members to focus more on games and less on style and fashion.
