The vegetation of Assam is primarily of tropical type covering areas of evergreen, semi-evergreen, grasslands, deciduous forests, grasslands and riverside forests. We'll adapt ourselves to Assam by getting used to rain, hills, and by living in houses like Ikra house, commonly referred to as the “Assam type house” which is common in northeast India. Majority of such houses are used for residential purposes. Typically these houses are built with light weight locally available materials like bamboos, wooden planks, thatch etc.
