Subject: Problems of traffic jams owing to massive encroachments
Dear Sir:
I write to your good self to express my concern over the problems of excessive traffic congestion faced by commuters owing to massive encroachment. The roads of the city have become so crowded with vehicles that long traffic jams are everyday affair now. There is no space even for pedestrians in the the market places. All footpaths have been illegally occupied by vendors.
Apart from that, this encroachment causes traffic jams also. These long traffic jams cause so much of loss to the nation. Millions of working hours are wasted every day because of these traffic jams. Fuel worth millions of rupees gets wasted by vehicles stuck up in these jams. People’s health is also under attack from the pollution caused by these vehicles. The irritation caused by these jams also leads to many aggressive confrontations among the commuters. Students also incur heavy loss of studies as these jams don’t let them reach to their schools and colleges in time.
Through the medium of your esteemed daily I appeal to the state and central governments to look into the matter. There should be strict action against those who encroach on roads. These vendors should be assigned particular spaces. The city is in dire need of an advanced Metro train facility. The municipal transport department can also commence more intra-city electrical buses. The Metro and the electrical buses will considerably help in reducing the traffic congestion on roads. Apart from the above mentioned measures, widening of roads and keeping the roads free for commuters can also help in reducing the problems of commuters. As you know the Ahmedabad is a very big and hi tech city of gujrat.This is an honor to live in a city like Ahmedabad.But apart from all the benefits that we get there is also one big problem that is arising due to heavy construction and increasing population. of the city. This problem is heavy traffic jam on roads that we are facing.Despite the fact that it's a six feet wide road.Whole day the market area of Nehru nagar remains conjusted.The office going people,students,doctors all get late for work.The main reason is heavy encroachment in both sides of the road.The biggest suffers are the pedestrians who get no space to walk.Every day there is news of a big or small accident on the road.Kindly publish an article on this subject in your highly esteemed newspaper so that the concerned authorities may notice the situation and work towards it.A diversion of road or building a footover bridge may also reduce the problem to a big extent.
