you arrive at a railway station and have to go to your home, which is at a distance of 3 kilometre from your house. you ask a rickshaw to move 3 km. will you certainly reach your home after travelling 3 km by rickshaw?​

nah....

3km in line of sight is very different from the actual "distance" traversed by the rickshaw....... well because ...

1)There may exist a straight road from the railway station to your home.... then the case is satisfied. (line of sight path)

2) or...

you need to travel through different roads by deviating from the original path because of obstructions(buildings etc .)

thereby covering more than 3km.....
