On 26th August 2019 I went to attend marriage ceremony of my cousin with my family. When I reached there I saw mehendi ceremony was going on and the place was decorated with various flowers and a soft music accompanied the same.
There are three types of rituals involved in a marriage that is pre wedding rituals, wedding rituals and post wedding rituals.Under pre-wedding rituals Patri patra,adan pradan ,aai budo bhaat etc comes under this category . Bor boron ,saat paak and sindur daan comes under wedding category and finally bashar ghar ,fool sojja etc comes under post wedding category.
Since it was the wedding day I was able to see the saat pak and sindur daan. After the marriage we danced to various sons played by the dj and had various food items as well. Overall it was a wonderful day for me.

Birshi
Birshi is celebrated in the land of God’s – Himachal Pradesh on the onset of monsoon to ensure better rainfall for the farmers and better crop availability for them in the year ahead.
The farmers gather together in the fields and pray to God about their crops and ask Lord Indra- The god of rains, to shower his blessings on all of them.
This is followed by traditional dance – naati where the children and the adults dance together to impress the lord with their traditional “shenai” music.
At the end of this peaceful ceremony, food is served and everyone rejoices the get together with their friends and relatives with utmost joy and satisfaction.
