Respected Sir,

Recently I came know that peacocks are being killed in a large number by the poachers in the Alwar region of Rajasthan. Peacocks are mercilessly culled for their feathers. If this goes on they will very soon become extinct. Peacock is our national bird and I am very sad that people don’t even take this into account while killing them.  

To bring down this menace, the villagers have to be made aware of the conservation status of peacocks in India. Also the forest department should deploy specials squads to keep a eye on the poachers.  

I kindly request you to write on this and create necessary awareness.
