You came across the following newspaper clipping. It makes you wonder why so many people
are still not aware of the importance of education. You decide to write a letter to the Editor,
The Times of India' on "Education for All". Write the letter in 100-150 words.

Subject : Need for ‘Education for All’

Sir,

Through the medium of this letter I wish to bring to your notice the fact that in today’s day and age many people are still not aware of the need and importance of education. It is most unfortunate that India will not be able to ensure even basic education for all children by the year 2015. As is evident from a recent survey that 30 per cent children do not attend schools and learning levels are abysmally low. It is also amazing that people still do not realize the value of education and prefer to deprive their children even from basic education especially the girl child whose education is below the national average in some States. Our foremost task today is to make people understand the importance of being educated. Education brings with it awareness and for a democracy like India educated citizens would be a boon. Education would help them to understand their rights and responsibilities and also save them from unnecessary exploitation. I hope you will publish my letter in your esteemed newspaper so as to reiterate this need for education for all.

Yours Sincerely

Shivani Kumar
