Thus the Sun attracts Earth, Earth attracts the Sun, Earth attracts a book, a book attracts Earth, the book attracts the desk, and so on. ... We do not feel the gravitational forces from objects other than the Earth because they are weak

Answer:

Yes. Gravity depends on masses of objects.

But.. Look at your surroundings before taking you and your teacher as masses.

What are you attracted towards?

Earth.

When such a mass(earth) is existing, your masses and the gravity between you and your teacher are negligible.

Also gravitational force is the weakest force in nature. It is not similar to magnets in case of force of attraction between the masses.

And 1.If you and your teacher are far away from all the celestial bodies where no gravitational force is strong enough to attract both of you exists, then you will surely get attracted towards each other only if you are close enough.

But this process(1) takes long time to progress
