Dear Monica,

I hope you are doing great.  I am also good and I wrote this letter to you to describe the annual talent show held in my school.

The annual talent show was held on 5th July. The school building has been renovated and whitewashed. We built a lovely gate at the main entrance. The main entrance to the auditorium was lined with colorful buntings. The driveway leading to the auditorium was lined with flower pots. The school complex was beautifully decorated for the annual talent show.

At 1 p.m., our Principal and the chief guest, the state's Chief Minister, entered the auditorium. The chief guest lit the lamp to begin the event, and soon after that the annual talent show began.

I participated in the show as well. For the performance, I chose to sing one of my favourites. Since you are aware of my passion for singing, I made the decision to participate in the talent show's singing competition  this year.

I sang the Tori Kelly song "Paper Hearts." Somehow, when I was up there singing, I didn't feel particularly nervous. I usually show signs of shaking and nervousness when I perform in front of large crowds. I suppose with time, my performance anxiety has decreased!

The audience listened to my song with patience, and when I finished, they all applauded and encouraged me. After my outstanding performance, I sprinted to visit my parents, filled with joy and anticipation of their admiration and pride in their gifted daughter. Their expressions confirmed what I already knew to be true—and my teacher appeared to agree—that I performed rather well.

When all the performances are over, it is time for the results, and I must admit that I was somewhat more anxious as I awaited the announcement of the winners. You'll be delighted to know that I won the talent show's singing competition.

It was a very fascinating and interesting experience. Despite doing my best, I never believed I had a chance. When my name was called, I was ecstatic. With over 20 pupils competing, it was an extremely fierce battle. This experience has inspired me to become more involved and work harder. In your future letter, do write me about your cricket sessions and new surroundings. Please give my respects to your grandparents and parents. I'll hopefully see you soon.

With love,

Yours affectionately

Ishika
