you find your mass to be 42 kg on a weighing machine is your more or less than that?
Answers
That is a weird question.
See how weighing machines work is they measure the force you are exerting on it (like those machines in grocery shops, you put a finger on it and keep pressing harder. The reading will increase, try it next time.)
So then the machine is calibrated to convert that force into mass. ( around 9.8 Newtons translate to 1 kg.) But it depends on place to place. If you take a weighing machine calibrated in Delhi and take it to Shimla, it will show your weight less (congrats! instant weight loss!).
So I don't really know what's the question is about. Your mass can be more or less, depending on the machine calibration.
Hope that helps.

Answer:
The weighing machine measures this apparent weight and hence the mass indicated by it is less than the actual mass. Our actual mass will be more than 42 kg.
