You found a book from school library lying on one of the table of your classroom at the end of the day. You gave it to the classroom monitor to hand it over to the class teacher. However, he has misplaced it and is unable to return it. Discuss with your friend to resolve this problem.

This is an ASL prompt for speaking activity. You can say the following lines or something similar:

Student A: I just wonder where the book has disappeared!

Student B: You should have kept it with you and returned it to the librarian yourself.

Student A: Now, I am feeling the same. I thought our class monitor is a responsible guy, he would keep it in the class teacher’s cupboard. However, he has misplaced it.

Student B: What will you do now? Will you have to pay for the lost book?

Student: A: I have already talked to the class-teacher. She called the monitor and he confessed it was his fault. So I will not have to pay the fine.

Student B: That’s quite good. But, what about the book? Will the monitor pay the cost of the lost book?

Student A: That I don’t know. But I want to help him find the book.

Student B: What alternative plan have you thought about in case the book is not found?

Student A: We have discussed it with the class teacher. The class teacher has suggested a solution. The entire class will contribute 20 rupees each to buy a new copy of the lost book and return it to the library.

Student B: Don’t you think only the monitor should pay for the lost book? Why should the entire class suffer?

Student A: I agree with you. The contribution is voluntary only. Besides, the monitor has agreed to pay the entire cost himself. But that is the last recourse. Let’s first try to find the lost book.
