Almost over the year 9 to 10 platoons are residing at above barracks daily apart from it the quantum pasts 14 to 15 in exceptional occasion over orders of ADGP (L/O) Odisha Cuttack while gives instruction to accommodate other units platoons for state exigency . The possession areas comprising of two hundred men double stored building, JCO barrack and dinning room. The cause of worry is due to lack of maintenance and repair of the building seem like a haunted place. Due to frequent thunder, lightening and Funny like calamities, being worsen the condition of the building more damage. The following difficulties are being experienced by the intimates that adversely affect their health condition followed by discontentment brewing among them.
(1) That it has been ten months since the ceiling fans has stopped working. More than 101 fans are defunct. The underlying problems being prevented rotation. In normal hour rooms become very hot and suffocating it causes a lot of inconvenience. Sprit gets diverted in the rest hour of inmates, following prompts suffering from sleepiness night . Further it adversely affect to catering duty.
(2) That the dining room stair roof top is made up tin sheet. Recently on the affect of Funny those have been taken off by ghastly wind. Often platoon members take little shelter when the barracks get over crowed as because of not having specious place either. The rain water drips into the room from the terrace side during rainy hours for which the inmates have suffering from severe difficulties and water logging like situation creates inside the dining room .
(3) That about 50% doors and windows are broken of rooms and toilets .it needs to repair as the men are being experienced problem while using toilets. In absence of force stray animals barging into the barracks. Further the existing segregation walls between urinals need to repair as it has damaged early as well as tiles of some part of floor have cracked because of construction in low standard materials .
(4) That the leakage of water from the pipes and fittings results water does not have stored in overhead tank for long hour . Experiencing to regulate the motor in abnormal hour daily . Hence emphasise should be given to repair the damaged pipe fittings.
(5) That the latrines are in choke condition due to use by large number of men. Engaging outsider scavengers did not solve its problem for which larger number masses are being avoided to have defecate rather prefers nearby open areas .
(6) That the almost 85% lighting materials and 10% switches are turned defunct. Last year my unit had supplied few electrical fitting those have now only exiting lights . Otherwise fitted lighting accessories have been gone snag . Resulted to lightening the wiring structure shows problems .electric shock wave spreading across the walls and other iron fitted places while person comes in contact with these. Hence it further needs to wiring once again .
(7) That street and periphery lights not working properly and some other part there is no streetlight as a result inmates are suffering much .the situation turns worse after the sunset as the men are moving to and fro on the stretch elongated upto black tape road .some time wild reptile are crossing the road and can prey of such wild living being .inmates feel extreme unsecured
(8) That the two numbers of water pump motor have been installed to fetch drinking water for inmates but one of them has been charred and another is catering slow pumping results it does not cater adequate water to meet the purpose of exiting numbers.
(9) That the barracks need some urgent major repairs like white wash and painting of doors, wooden and other wooden fixtures and replacement.
Hence it is requested to kindly take whatever steps necessary to remedy these problems as quick as possible. This will benefit the inmates and provide respite.
