You happen to come across a group of children in tattered clothes begging on the roadside. Their bones were peeping out of their skin- a perfect picture of malnutrition. You were very much touched. You decided to write a letter to the editor of ‘The Tribune’, Chandigarh regarding how this affects us as a society/country at large and what needs to be done. Write the letter in about 150-200 words.

Sir:
I am writing this letter to express my deep concern over the issue of malnutrition among millions of children belonging to very poor people in India. Recently I happened to come across a group of children in tattered clothes begging on the road side; their bones were peeping out of their skins; they were looking a perfect picture of malnutrition. I was wondering how will India become an advanced nation without ensuring perfect health and hygiene for her people, especially the children, who are the future citizens? India will progress only if all her citizens are healthy and strong.
Unquestionably, the Government has started many programmes for children belonging to poor families; but still these programmes are not sufficient. There are millions of underfed children, who need proper nutrition. The Government must come forward to provide nutritional food to these poor children free of cost; people and organizations must also come forward. As these children are the future and asset of our nation. I appeal to the HR ministry and Welfare Organizations to do something for these children. Kindly publish my appeal in your esteemed paper to bring the issue to the Government’s attention. Thanking you.
Yours truly,
