You have a bag of 100kg of cotton and 100kg of iron. When measured in weighing machine you found one is heavier than another. Why?

here for 100kg, amount of cotton will be more than the amount of iron

that is volume of 100 kg cotton is more than the volume of 100 kg iron as its density is more than cotton.

The density of cotton bag is less than that of the iron bar, so the volume of cotton bag is more compared to iron bar. So the cotton bag experience more up thrust due to the presence of air. Therefore in the presence of air the true weight of cotton bag is more compared to the true weight of iron bar.
