Base b = 32 cm

Hight h = 48 cm

For the largest possible square take the smallest side of the paper =32cm it means that the largest square has sides equal to 32 cm

To find the cut section x

h1= (48-x) cm

b= 32 cm

In square all sides are equal

So, b=h1

32= 48-x

x= 48-32

x= 16 cm is the cut section to make the largest square

h1= 48-16 = 32 cm
