You have a small party at home. You want to arrange 6 rows of

chairs with 8 chairs in each row for the visitors. The number of chairs

you will need is 6 x 8. You will find that the room is not wide enough

to accommodate rows of chairs. You decided to have 8 rows of chairs

with 6 chairs in each row. How many chairs do you require?

Observation:

i) In both the cases are the number of chairs same?

ii) This represents which property?

iii) Mention another situation where the above property is

satisfied.
