Explanation:-
A sentence is divided into two parts, namely: subject and predicate. A sentence with both a subject and a predicate is said to be a complete sentence.
⊙ Subject – It is a part of the sentence in the form of noun, pronoun or noun phrase, which is the main character in the sentence.
⊙ Predicate – It is the remaining part of the sentence (excluding subject), which contains what the subject has done.
Consider the sentence mentioned below as an example!
Arya laughed at the dog.

Subject Predicate
In this sentence, "Arya" is a proper noun, "laughed" is the action verb and "at the dog" is the adverb phrase that modifies the verb by describing at whom did she laugh.
Additional information:-
A sentence also has a few optional parts such as object, complement, modifier and adverbial.
- Objects are also nouns or noun phrases, that are included in the predicate part in a sentence. Verbs act upon the object in a sentence.
- Complement is a fragment of the sentence, succeeding the linking verb in the sentence. A sentence with complement doesn't have action verbs.
- Modifiers are the adjectives and adverbs, whose work is to describe the noun or verb by adding additional information in the sentence.
- Adverbial is likely similar to modifiers. But, modifiers are made up of single words where an adverbial is made up of a group of words that explain how, when or where the action has been performed.
