We have been asked by the principal to write a speech on the importance of English for the morning assembly. The speech draughted will be as follows:

Good morning all,

I am Perrina Babani a student of IX std and I have come before all of you present to talk about the importance of the English language. English is very important as it is understood to be a universal language. No matter where we travel in this world we will always encounter people who know atleast a little English. So this language will help us not only in our country but also in other countries. This language has also been used to make many words of the regional language. Elders say that English has been gifted to us by the British people who used to stay and rule in our country. We get a very good foundation of this subject starting from the school itself as most of the subjects taught to us in school are taught in this subject.

If we are able to speak well in this language we are taught to be literate by most people. So we should put in an effort to learn this language and speak it to the best of our capacity.
