Saving water, one household at a time
- Aryan Sharma
Whenever it comes to water conservation, everyone thinks that it is not their problem, and simply let the others make efforts to conserve the precious resource. What people do not realise is that it is the responsibility of each individual to save water, because eventually the problem will affect every single person. The most important thing is to spread awareness about the severity of this problem and garner the support of each household in the housing society.
Certain habits can be changed to save water on a daily basis. For example, maids can be instructed not to let the water keep running while doing the dishes or washing clothes. Similarly, children can be taught not to keep the water running while brushing their teeth. All toilets can be fitted with two types of flushing settings- one that releases less water and another that releases a greater volume of water.
There are many steps that can be taken without too much hassle. The need of the hour is to take initiative today to save our tomorrow.
