You have been provided with three test tubes. One of them contains distilled water and the
other two contains an acidic solution and a basic solution respectively . If you are given only
red litmus paper, how will you identify the contents of each test tube?

**HEY BUDDY**
***HERE IS YOUR ANSWER***
Cut the red litmus paper into 3 pieces and put it in the 3 solutions ..the solution in which the red litmus paper turns blue is the base as red litmus paper turns blue in basic solution ..hence in this way we can determine the basic solution...
now remains THE acid and the distilled water ..now take the blue litmus paper that have been prepared above ...put this blue litmus in both the solution..now the solution in which the blue litmus turns red is called acid as in acid the blue litmus turns red ..and the remaining solution is distilled water...☺☺.Hope I have cleared ur doubt...

Explanation:

If the colour of red litmus does not change then it is acid. If the colour of red litmus changes to blue then it is base. If there is slight change in the colour of red litmus (such as purple) then it is distilled water.
