The following tests will work if the food sample is in solution form so, prepare the paste of the food sample beforehand.
Starch Test = Add 2-3 drops of iodine solution to the 2 ml of the paste. If Blue-Black color is seen, starch is present in the paste.
Protein Test = To the 2ml of the paste, add Millon's reagent. If Reddish-orange color is seen, protein is present in the paste.
