You have following material :
An ammeter (0-1A), a voltmeter (0-3V), a resistor of 20 (Ohm), a key, a rheostat, a battery
of 3 V and seven connecting wires. Using this material draw a labelled circuit diagram to study the dependence of potential difference (V) across a resistor on the current (I) passing through it.

Given:

Battery of Voltage = 3v

Ammeter of Range = (0-1) A

Voltmeter of Range = (0-3) v

Rheostat

Solution:

In the current carrying electric circuit  ,the potential difference is measured by the work done for the motion of unit charge from one point to another point.

V = \frac{Workdone}{Charge} = \frac{W}{Q}

This is known as potential difference.

The resistance can be measured by taking ratio of potential difference to the current.
