Answer:
It was in the morning when I learnt about the road accident that happened near my school.
At that time, I was on my way to school when I saw a lorry seriously damaged, with traffic all over the place, which were definitely indicating that something bad had happened. All the men in that once luxurious car were in a critical condition that people started to panic. I could hear people chattering, trying to contact an ambulance as if it was the most normal thing to do during the situation.
Since the only pathway to the school was blocked, I had no choice but to wait for the chaos to settle down. But I guess it's not a regrettable thing to skip the first few hours of school. As I waited, I could see groups of people passing by, talking about this and that. Among the topics they spoke about, I overheard something which piqued my interest.
Only from their conversation that I learnt the cause of the accident, which was the lorry driver's recklessness. Like the causes of many other road accidents, as if was a cliche, the driver was drunk. Gladly though, there was no one dead in the accident.
Of course, because of that, I didn't give much of a reaction when I first heard it. It was normal, I thought. But questions followed right after. The lorry was so luxurious, so the ones carried in it must be rich or important people, so why was a drunk driver employed and allowed to drive? On top of that, what would happen to him after this accident?
It was a simple accident, or so one might say, if only it wasn't for the lorry they were riding, but what would happen from it?

Tips:
Basically for writing diary, you may want to consider being a little bit more honest and relaxed. I don't know if you're told any different, but for me, diary is not an essay, so you want to just pour everything in it and write it as if it's you experiencing the event and you just write as if you're gonna forget it one day.
Hope it helps
Good luck for your final exam. Wish you the best :D
