A letter to my cousin describing my life in the new school

Dear Ram,

I hope you and Chocolate are doing well. Does she still bark at random bikes on the road? I hope she has grown out of that phase.

Anyway, I am writing to share with you my experiences about St John’s and the magnificence- that is Ooty. As you already know, initially I was quite upset with my parents’ decision to change my school. I was not entirely convinced about leaving Chennai and my friends there to shift to a whole new place and a school. But I instantly took a liking to Ooty as soon as I stepped in to it. The picturesque mountains and the beautiful flowers that seem to have covered the whole town are breath taking to look at.

My school is nestled between two huge mountains which is a sight in itself. I love the huge classrooms and the facilities that come with it. My classmates are very friendly and fun to be with.

I have taken a sudden liking to horse riding, skating and gymnastics. My new school has state-of-the-art facilities to coach us in such disciplines. It has been a week since I have begun horse-riding. My horse’s name is Terry. She is very strong and extremely clever. When she senses that I am about to lose balance, she stops and gives me the time to seat myself properly. Despite which I fell off a lot the first two days. My coach says that I have improved a lot now. Skating also took the same route. It is true what my dad says- “Practice maketh a man perfect”. Gymnastics is a whole new ball game, Ram. You should definitely give the sport a try. I have made a friend here with whom I attend my gymnastics classes.

I wish you could also join St. John’s. It will be so much fun.

My love to aunt and uncle and my hugs to Chocolate.

Yours,

XXX
