Around 22,000 people took part in the district-level MASA art competition and all the participants were given a Wash Volunteer certificate. State Chief Secretary Vinod Kumar Pipersenia, while handing over the certificates to the students, said that in order to maintain a healthy life they should inculcate the habit of washing their hands before eating. He also urged the students to plant more and more trees for a better tomorrow.

Kamrup Deputy commissioner Vinod Seshan said that to promote public health and environment programme, community drawing programme becomes a tool to create an environment that would strengthen community participation and action to adopt new hygienic practices and generate demand for safe sanitation. Also such contests will provide the children an opportunity to think about the WASH and environment by expressing their inspiration and experiences and also the effort to make open defecation free society.
