You have read about the ways in which the media ‘sets the agenda’. What kind of effect does this have in a democracy? Provide two examples to support your point of view.

In a democracy media plays a very important role in providing news and discussing events taking place in the country and the world. It helps in creating public opinion. However, there are many instances where media missuses its power.

There are several instances wherein the media doesn't focus on important issues like environmental concerns instead they are focusing on irrelevant stuff like wedding of some celebrity or some fashion event.

However, there is a very big impact of media in a democracy as it makes people aware. For example, in recent years the media has drawn our attention towards the alarming level of pesticides used in cola drinks.
