Answer:
In both stories fantasy and reality is interwoven together. In the story 'Adventure', Narlikar tries to prove that reality is limited to what we perceive. It has been proved that on firing an electron from a source, it may go anywhere. Even all parts can exist together. Gangadhar's mind suffers such a transition from one world to another and back again.
In the same way the character of the lesson Third level, Charley wanders away from the rush and the crowd of new york to the 3rd level at the grand central station. Here he is trying to escape the modern world which is filled with insecurities, fears, worries, stress, etc. He escapes/ hallucinates to the year 1894 to Galesburg, Illinois where life is peaceful and easier.
