Answer:

Dear Friend:

I hope this letter finds you in great health and spirits. I am writing this letter to share with you my anguish over the problem of innocent animals kept in zoos. These animals are living a poor, wretched life.

The tiger in the poem Tiger in the Zoo feels slave in the concrete cell. It feels like a prisoner. It misses its freedom in the forest where it should be lurking in the shadows; stalking its prey in the long grass near water hole, where deer come to drink water and where it lurks to pounce on them.

It can only walk a few steps in the cage. Many visitors come to see it but it does not pay any heed to them.

At night after everyone retires, it can only look at the stars from its cage. I feel the zoos should be banned. If people are curious to see these animals, they should go to animal seeing safaris. How will men feel if they are caged? I hope you agree with my views. Do write me back expressing your take on the matter. That’s all. The rest is fine. Parnam to uncle and aunt.

Yours affectionately,

Parveen

Dear friend,

I am fine and I hope you too. I am writing this letter to you to describe about a recently read poem “A Tiger in the Zoo” which caught me hard in my feelings. In that poem there was a tiger confined in a zoo cage. It was a brave tiger but helplessly starring at the visitors. If it would have been in the wild it would be roaming freely in the jungle and hunting its prey whenever it wants to. However, it was in the cage. Tiger is known for its fearlessness and aggressive nature. But humans have changed its personality by confining it to a cage.
