Dear Mom,

How are you? Hope you and dad are doing great. I have reached Australia 3 days ago and thought to write to you.

So I arrived at 3 am on 1st November.  I feet a little jet lag since the time zone over there was really different from India. I also missed you and dad a lot and perhaps I guess I was home sickened. Right now I am staying in a Hotel because the hostel rooms aren't available. On the first few days of college, I met several amazing students. The teachers are really friendly and supporting. Since I joined in the middle of the academic year I have a lot of things to catch up with. I made a new friend named Liah. She is really nice. She gave me a quick tour of the college and also introduced me to several people.

I really miss you and dad though. I really hope I can visit you soon. For now I am going to end this letter. Take care.

Dear Mom,

How are you? Hope you are doing good! I am doing good too. I reached Australia a week ago safely and thought of writing to you about an extremely important topic.

So I reached on the New year’s eve and felt exhausted! I can still feel the jet lag because of the different time zones! I miss you and our family a lot! I was welcomed by the university here in a very unexpected yet a really nice way! But I was feeling terribly homesick! I couldn’t talk to others as they were total strangers! As I am living in my hostel dorm I have made great friends with Tang Xue and Jaehyun who are my roommates for this semester. Both are very kind and are also helping as both were brought up in Australia itself! I was missing you and our country terribly but one has to be strong in the end!  

The college staff and teachers are perfect! They are very good at cooking and can make out every aroma they smell! I don’t know about others but I am definitely impressed by their talent, skills, and recognition! I can assure you I will be a MasterChef in a few months itself because of the teachers! I won’t write more cause if I do know, I won’t stop writing! You won’t receive a letter, but you will receive a book if I write anymore! There’s a lot to tell you, but wait for the next letter! Take care of yourself and others. Tell Maitreyi I said Hi! Miss you!
