• When the object is closer to the light source then a bigger shadow will be formed and this is due to the object which blocks more of the light also when the object is kept away from the light source then a smaller shadow will be formed.

• When the pencil is placed away from the candle and is taken closer to the wall then the shadow of the pencil will be small in size.

• When the pencil is placed away from the wall and is taken closer to the candle then the shadow will be big in size

Hence, For getting the same sized shadow as the pencil we will move the pencil for bringing it to a spot which has an equal distance between the wall and the candle.
