It was a Saturday when I went to visit Eco Park for the school picnic with my classmates and teachers. We friends were all happy to be together at the picnic spot. We played all day long; we rode the water boats and watched the magic show that was held there for the children. And as the day rolled into afternoon we were called to have our lunch together.
There were so many dishes I like so I ate heartily. It was all perfect until I decided to walk into an ice cream parlour. The shop was situated a bit far away from where all the students and teachers were at. My only big mistake was that I did not inform anyone that I was leaving for a moment to buy an ice cream.
As I came back from there I saw nobody I knew. The place where we were at was as empty as if there was nobody there ever. I called out the names of my classmates one by one and the names of my teachers but no one answered. I looked around while screaming their names. Many visitors stared at me curiously and some even approached me but no one seemed interested enough in my distressed. I started to panic when I came back to the same spot and realized they all left the place without me.
I hastened to the enquiry office and informed the police guards who were there. They allowed me to call my family and I ringed my father first. He told me to wait, he would come pick me up. I was so afraid that my heart began beating furiously. The policemen gave me a chair to sit and wait.
After an hour or so that actually felt like an eternity, my father came for me and with him the school bus. They realized that I was missing as my partner informed them so they came back. I cried when I saw my father finally.
At the end all was well.

Explanation:
About twenty of us went for a picnic from school. It was to a picturesque village and we had just finished with our sightseeing. We had stopped and were looking for a place to have lunch. I had this sudden urge to eat ice-cream and as luck would have it, saw a board with ‘RAY’S ICECREAMS’ written on it. Why not have a quick ice-cream, while the team was busy looking for a restaurant? Besides, the bus was stopped and everyone was outside.
I hurried to the ice-cream shop and ordered a double scoop of lemon vanilla flavour. It was heavenly and delicious and the scoops were huge. Once I finished, I went outside and to my horror found that the bus was nowhere in sight! I had left my bag with contact details of my teachers and the bus driver in it! I ran from shop to shop asking about the yellow painted school bus. But no one had a clue! I rushed back to the ice cream shop and asked the shop keeper if he could help me get back home. He was very kind and called his wife, who offered to drop me home in her car - an old model fiat. I was glad as I reached home. Mom and Dad were at work. I immediately called the teachers who were in the bus with me and they were relieved to hear my voice. Upon realising that I was missing, they had turned back to the village, where the ice-cream shop owner told them that I was dropped home. I was really embarrassed and sorry for putting my teachers and the bus driver to trouble. But they were nice and understanding about it, with a note of advice for me – keep your team informed!
