Winning competitions has been one of things which always boosted my ego. Obviously losing helps people to learn one of the most important lessons of life, however, winning always helped me to thrive for higher peaks awaiting to be mounted.
The prize which i won was an amount of Rs.7000, it was for an inter university debating competition.
This debating competition was known as "declamation contest" considering that declamations are mostly similar to debates in nature, however they require the reliving of words of famous people and they require a certain amount of emotion and dramatics to be performed, kind of like lyrical poetry.
The efforts which i made were tremendous on my part, as I picked several topics, shortlisted them after writing at least a rough draft per topic, then finalized with the help of my mentor's input.
I also, looked at multiple declamation videos, which helped me to gather the correct emotion and finally i practiced in the mirror.
I used this prize to buy myself some clothes and pay my mobile bills, my parents were quite happy for my success and i wanted to gift them something, but they told me that they would wait for my first salary rather than my prize, to accept my gift.
