You have you have a solution of sugar in water you want to get sugar from it explain why filtration will not work

It will bcoz the sugar and water forms an homgenus mixture which cannot be removed by filtration as the small sugar molecules are mixed within the intermolecular spaces of water which is very small as compared to the gap in the filter paper or filtering material  thus it can be only removed when u will remove water from it or by distillation
