b. Presbyopia - The lens becomes harder and less elastic as individuals age, making it harder for the eye to concentrate on near objects. Presbyopia is triggered by the eye's lens hardening that takes place with aging. As the lens becomes less flexible, focusing on close-up pictures can no longer alter shape. These pictures therefore appear out of focus.
