You like a dress of rupees.97 . So you take 50 rupees from your mother and 50 rupees from your father . Then you buy the dress and the shopkeeper gives you 3 rupees. You give your parents 1rupees each. So you took 98 rupees from your parents and you have rupees 1 so when we add it we get 99 so where did 1 rupee go

it is stated that out of the ruppee 2 rupee is given back and one ruppee is kept with himself only .. and when we add we should not forget that rupee also ..

I should give 1.5 rupees each as 1.5+1.5=3 so the rest rupees =3.good question
