I had been looking forward to a visit from my parents on my birthday! But all my excitement vanished when last night papa told me his inability to travel all the way to my hostel. Though the family wished me happy birthday wishes; though they have sent a wonderful cake with lots of gifts, i was sad. Nor could I go home on account of my exams! It was so boring. But then something wonderful happened! My room mates must have  sensed my sadness that they arranged such a wonderful get-together for me! They decorated the hall; set up a small music system; and just before dinner, they took me their. It was all dark. And suddenly someone switched the lights on. Look! on the wall was written HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! The table had been laid before hand. There were two cakes with my names written on them! I cut the cake with my teachers, warden , and other hostel students. I really liked it. This celebration gladdened me!
